A Hickory native, Dalton joined Oz's Jewelers on his birthday in November of 2019 as a seasonal sales associate. His talent and dedication quickly led him to his role as the store's creative director in 2021, followed by his promotion to the store's business manager in early 2024. In early 2025, Dalton was able to take over as one of the owners of Oz's Jewelers.
As an owner, Dalton plays a huge role in overseeing the store's daily operations, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Not to be confused with Melissa's role in overseeing the showroom, he is responsible for the behind the scenes operations and implementing strategic plans to enhance store performance. Dalton also oversees developing and executing marketing initiatives, and optimizing the overall shopping experience.
Dalton is a proud graduate of UNC Chapel Hill, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Advertising & Public Relations, and Wake Forest University, where he completed his master’s degree in Business Management at the age of 21.
His expertise extends beyond traditional jewelry sales; Dalton is a Registered Gemologist Appraiser, as certified by the International School of Gemology. With this certification, he is listed in the Insurance Registry of Jewelry Appraisers and Gemologists. He has also completed coursework at the Gemological Institute of America and is recognized as a Cultured Pearl Specialist by the Cultured Pearl Association of America. Dalton is a recipient of the prestigious Robert Foreman Memorial Award from the 24kt Club, The RJO Foundation Scholarship Award, as well as the North Carolina Jewelers Association Scholarship— three very prestigious awards in the jewelry industry.
When not working at his desk in the office, you can often find Dalton at the diamond counters, where he enjoys helping clients find the perfect engagement ring and has a keen eye for custom-designed pieces.
Outside of Oz's Jewelers, Dalton is heavily involved in the jewelry industry and local community. He serves as the Vice-President of the North Carolina Jewelers Association, an organization created to serve the independent jewelers in the state of North Carolina. He is the first board member to represent retail jewelers of the Southern Jewelry Travelers Association, where he serves on the board of advisors for the Atlanta Jewelry Show, one of the largest buying shows in the southern region. In the local community, Dalton is involved in the Chamber of Catawba County as well as a member of the leadership council for Hickory Young Professionals.
Dalton is the founder of DP Creative, the creative agency he founded to help jewelers evolve to the ever-changing digital landscape. In his free time, he enjoys watching UNC sports, collecting watches, and spending time with his friends and family.
