Meet Leah: Apprentice Jeweler
Leah came to us with a desire to be a jeweler. She's been working along both our Master Jewelers for 3 years now, in addition to her training at New Approach School for Jewelers! Get to know her better below!
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I was born & raised in Newton, & I graduated from Tree of Life Christian Academy. I am a lover of all things music & art.
How long have you been with Oz’s Jewelers?
I have been with Oz’s Jewelers for three years. I started on the bench learning the basics of repair, but I am slowly learning & growing my knowledge beyond just jewelry repair.
What about being a jeweler sparked your interest?
Growing up my parents cultivated my love for music and art, which turned into a passion for jewelry - especially the creative/design aspect of it.
What's your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of the job is seeing all different styles of jewelry and hearing the stories that come with them.
What’s your jewelry philosophy?
Don’t think your ideas are crazy when it comes to having jewelry made. Anything is possible, the only thing that can stop you is how creative you are and how high your imagination soars.
What does your ideal Saturday look like?
My ideal Saturday would just include seeing my family and friends. What we do isn’t really important to me as long as we’re all together.
What’s your favorite piece of jewelry you already own?
My favorite piece I own is an estate bracelet that was gifted to me, it is perfect for everyday wear.
Any Oz’s pieces you have your eye on?
I do have my eye on a couple unique diamond pendants that are absolutely beautiful.
